Signal polarity depends on the USB-UART adapter and any transistor circuit. Manual mode remains the safe default.
Enter the STM32 system bootloader
Set BOOT0 high, reset the target, release RESET, then click Connect. Cross TX/RX and share GND.

Wire SWDIO, SWCLK, GND and VTref/3.3V sense, then click Connect and select the ST-Link probe.
